Welcome to peptest: What We Do and Our Standards
Meet peptest, a local testing and diagnostic service. See what we do, how we work, and the standard we hold every job to. Book a slot today.

peptest is a local diagnostic and testing service that helps people and small businesses get clear, honest answers about a specific problem before they spend money fixing the wrong thing. We founded the practice in 2019 on Marszałkowska Street, and every job we take on runs through the same three-step protocol: intake, test, written report.
What does peptest actually do day to day?
We run diagnostic tests. That's the short version. The longer version is that clients come to us with a symptom (a device that misbehaves, a result they don't trust, a second opinion they need) and we design the smallest possible test that will separate the real cause from the noise. A single-issue diagnostic starts at 180 PLN. A full multi-point workup is 460 PLN and takes about four working days.
Last month a client named Marta, age 41, brought in a report from another provider claiming three separate faults. We ran two targeted tests. One fault. The other two were measurement artifacts from a miscalibrated probe. She saved roughly 2,400 PLN in unnecessary repair work.
That's the job. Not selling fixes. Finding the truth.
Why does the "standard" matter more than the price?
Most people ask first about price. That's the wrong first question. Ask about the failure rate, because a cheap test that's wrong 20% of the time is more expensive than a careful test that's wrong 2% of the time. Diagnostic error remains a leading contributor to avoidable harm across industries, and the U.S. National Academies has documented that most people will experience at least one diagnostic error in their lifetime [1].
Here's what we commit to on every job:
- We publish our confidence level on every reported result, not just the result itself.
- We keep raw measurement data for 24 months so any finding can be re-examined.
- We refuse jobs where the test we'd need to run can't produce a defensible answer.
- We disclose when a second opinion from a specialist would serve you better than we can.
- We charge a flat fee up front, never a percentage of what a "fix" would cost.
- We give you the written report in plain language, with the technical annex attached separately.
Try this: next time any provider quotes you, ask them what their false-positive rate is on that specific test. If they can't answer, that tells you something.
How does peptest compare to the two common alternatives?
Clients usually weigh us against a big-chain lab or a DIY home-kit approach. Here's the honest comparison.
| Option | Typical cost | Turnaround | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| peptest (local) | 180-460 PLN | 2-4 days | Cases needing interpretation, not just a number |
| Large chain lab | 90-250 PLN | 1-2 days | Standard tests where the reference range is obvious |
| Home / DIY kit | 40-120 PLN | Same day | Rough screening, not decisions with money attached |
The chain labs are faster and cheaper on volume work. We won't pretend otherwise. Where we're worth the extra złoty is when the result needs a person who'll pick up the phone and explain what it means, and what it doesn't mean. If you want the fuller version of that thinking, see the questions worth asking before you hire any testing provider.
Should you book with us, or somewhere else?
Book with peptest if you've already had one confusing result and want a careful second look, or if the decision that hangs on the test is worth more than a few hundred złoty. Don't book with us for routine, high-volume standard panels; a chain lab will serve you better and cheaper. Google's own guidance on quality content is that expertise and first-hand experience should be visible in the work itself [2], and that's the bar we try to meet in every written report we send. You can read more about how we actually work if you want the behind-the-scenes version before you decide.
FAQ
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, always. We hold a maximum of six diagnostic slots per day so each client gets undivided time on the equipment and a written report inside four working days. Walk-ins can't be accommodated. Booking is by phone or through the contact form, and we confirm within one business day with a slot and a fixed price.
What if the test result is inconclusive?
We tell you plainly, in writing, and we don't charge for the re-test if the inconclusive result came from something on our side. If it came from the sample or the device itself, we'll explain what went wrong and quote a fair price to try again with a different method.
Can peptest work with businesses, not just individuals?
Yes. Roughly 30% of our 2024 workload came from small businesses needing pre-purchase inspections, warranty-dispute evidence, or routine quarterly checks. We can invoice with VAT, sign NDAs, and deliver reports formatted for insurance or legal use if the case calls for it.
How do I know your results are trustworthy?
Ask for our calibration log. We publish it quarterly, and we'll email the current version to any client who asks before booking. Trust in diagnostic work isn't a slogan, it's a paper trail, and we'd rather you check ours than take our word for it.
